The main aims of the first workshop of the project Critical Edition and Study of the Works Attributed do Petrus Hispanus - 1 are
- the discussion of the principles of electronic text editing, assuring his re-use, compatibility and interoperability
- the training and practical work for the electronic publication of medieval texts (text edition and connection with manuscripts's digital images)
- to define what IT resources adopt for text encoding of the works of Petrus Hispanus, preparing them for different uses: print publication, online open access, databases, indexing and lemmatisation, text search, etc.

Jeffrey Witt is Medieval Philosophy Assistant Professor at Loyola University Maryland, and acts as international adviser of the project Petrus Hispanus. With growing interests in digital humanities and the process of moving philosophical texts from their original manuscript form to media more accessible to the community of scholars, is currently developing a web publishing framework for medieval Sentences commentaries.
